Free check for tenants
The annual gas safety check is free for tenants of ºù«ÍÞapp Homes so we can meet our legal obligations under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
Make sure you keep your appointments or call 01293 438111 if you need to reschedule.
If we cannot get access to your home for this essential safety check we will consider legal action to gain access.
The check takes about an hour and includes the visual inspection of central heating systems, covering:
- Boilers
- Radiators
- Cold water storage tanks and cylinders
- Flues (concealed flues will have inspection hatches fitted)
The inspection of:
- All gas appliances
The testing of:
- All internal gas pipes
- The gas meter
The gas safety check must include your own gas appliances, however we will not service or repair them. If they are unsafe they may be disconnected. This is purely to protect you. It is your responsibility to get your gas appliances regularly serviced by a Gas Safe registered tradesperson.
Take control of your gas central heating
Using your central heating and hot water controls can be confusing. Read our information sheet to help you understand your controls.
During the summer give your heating a test, this could reveal any problems before you need the heating on.
